Advanced Space was founded by Bradley Cheetham and Darrell David Cain, who met as university students, and was formally established in 2011 under an earlier name. The company specializes in spacecraft navigation, orbit design and mission operations.
In 2022, it launched CAPSTONE for NASA, becoming the first commercial company to orbit a spacecraft near the Moon. CAPSTONE was the first spacecraft to fly the near-rectilinear halo orbit once planned for NASA’s Gateway station, and Advanced Space continues to operate it as a test platform.
